I've just finished reading...
Erk. A quality read, if a bit of a disturbing one. Full of interesting characters this is a story that starts at a barbecue with an unruly child with parents who can't/won't control him and the slap the child receives. Each chapter looks from a different attendees point of view, looking further into their lives and issues, and the effect that the slap is having on them and their relationships. Whether you love or hate the characters this is a book that is impossible to put down. Recently made into a TV series with Melissa George and Sophie Okenedo.

Theft: A Love Story is a really enjoyable book, written from the perspectives of two brothers - Hugh and Butchers Bones. Carey writes about the corruption of the art world, the difficulties of sibling relationships as well as conjuring up vivid images of Australia. Highly recommended!
